Money-saving tips

Simple habits that often make the comparison more useful for a real weekly shop.

  • Use the own-brand toggle on pantry, laundry and household staples where you are happy to swap.
  • Treat loyalty prices as conditional savings and check the club-card requirement before travelling.
  • Use Practical saving mode when a small cash saving is not worth an extra stop.
  • Review any low-confidence fuzzy matches before you rely on the split basket.
  • Compare unit price first when pack sizes change across supermarkets.
  • Keep exact product only for the brands that really matter to you, then widen the rest.

Grocery price finder questions

Short answers to common questions about how the grocery list and price comparison tool works.

Can I compare my full grocery shop?

Yes. Build a basket item by item, then compare the selected list across supported supermarkets and split it into store-by-store shopping lists.

Does this include Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury's and Aldi?

Yes. The architecture supports Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury's, Morrisons, Aldi, Lidl, Iceland, Ocado, Waitrose, Co-op and M&S Food.

Are prices guaranteed?

No. Grocery prices, stock levels and loyalty offers can change quickly, so always double-check the retailer page or shelf label before you buy.

Why does unit price matter?

Pack sizes often differ between supermarkets. Unit price makes it easier to compare like for like rather than trusting the headline pack price alone.

Can I choose only one supermarket?

Yes. You can use Cheapest single supermarket mode or limit the preferred supermarkets to just one store.

Can I use own-brand alternatives?

Yes. For each shopping-list item you can allow own-brand alternatives and then review the suggested substitutions before the basket is final.

Do loyalty prices change the basket result?

Yes, but only if you say you have the relevant loyalty card. Standard public online shelf price is the default comparison, and loyalty prices are shown separately until you opt in.

Estimate notice

This tool gives an estimate only. Product data, stock status, loyalty prices and supermarket availability can change, so always double-check the retailer page or shelf label before you buy.
